As the night dragged on, it became apparent that something was wrong. After much checking and soulsearching and praying to the gods to smite the internet gremlins, I came to the horrifying realization that Comcast had blocked port 80 and pretty much anything else commonly used for services, and had banned servers and whatnot for their customers. Oh FUCK. I knew things would be different after so long away, but this just pisses me off. Now my "Internet" connection is good for little more than web browsing, chat, and games, and I'm left having to either pay out the wazoo for remote hosting, or pay out the wazoo for a commercial account, most likely with the ISP run by Hitler.
Apparently most big ISP's are doing this too.
Well.. there may be some hope here. Can anyone find a nice, cheap, high-speed ISP in the vicinity of Greensburg, PA, that doesn't outright rip off their customers with gimped access? I really don't want to be a supporter of the intarweb-nazis, y'know. You will be my hero if you can pull this off.
